THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Orleans Corner Restaurant Review:
This colorful restaurant, decorated with ample fleurs-de-lis and framed Mardi Gras masks, brings a taste of New Orleans to the San Gabriel Valley. It has a menu that reads just right: etouffée, fried oysters, crawfish boil, po’ boy sandwiches, andouille sausage and even a muffaletta sandwich, which is hard to find in L.A. But we’re just not feeling the Big Easy on the plate. It’s probably safest to consider the deep-fried items --- hush puppies, mixed with cheddar and jalapeño, are pretty satisfying --- but the cornmeal-crusted catfish was uninspired. For dessert, there are beignets, of course. A limited wine list and decent selection of craft beers on tap are offered.
