Ouisie's Table Restaurant Review

: Proprietor-chef Elouise Adams Jones (“Ouisie”) welcomes guests to her rustic-yet-chic New England-style digs on San Felipe as if it was her personal home. Her patio is the most beautiful perch in town and her garden room is decked out with banquettes for lounging in romantic Laura Ashley-type fabrics. It's definitely one of the poshest breakfast spots in town, serving eggs Benedict and crêpes but also good ol’ steak and eggs and corn pudding. Lunch can be as simple as a cool glass of Ruffino Prosecco paired with the Ouisie’s Splendid Spud --- baked potato slices topped with sour cream, caviar, salmon and dill. And for a truly elegant dinner, start with some brandied oysters based on Jones’ grandmother Lucy’s recipe and then indulge in a chicken breast with a sauté of poblano pesto, green chiles, Jack cheese, fresh corn kernels and scallions with sun-dried tomatoes, pico de gallo and sour cream and crispy corn tortillas.

Just the perfect place for a nice home meal. My wife and I were invited to this legendary restaurant for a birthday celebration and I can't say enough good things about it from the great staff, from the ambiance to the awesome comfort food it offers. We started off with Rockefeller oysters and champagne were to die for (now my wife wants to do that everyday at home). I had their bacon wrapped steak and it was better than any I have had, even at steak houses, and the mac and cheese side hit the spot. Everyone loved their meal and Tres leches dessert we shared was just amazing. Our server was superb; the staff is so talented and accommodating that we felt as if we earned a new friend. I will certainly go back and tell others to visit, my wife certainly can't wait.
