Ox & Son in Santa Monica is a modern American neighborhood restaurant from the FNA (Fork n' Awesome) Hospitality Group (The OP Cafe, Ashland Hill, Art's Table, Cole's French Dip) located on the former site of Cafe Montana. The menu presents twists on classics, such as chicken fried duck confit. Starters offer oysters, cheese and charcuterie, beef tartare and a ham and corn griddle cake. Roasted salmon or charcrusted filet mignon will fill up the belly nicely. Burger fans will find a winner with the O&S 8-ounce burger with raclette cheese. Finish with the coffee cake and butterscotch topped with burnt cinnamon ice cream for dessert. A short wine list with interesting labels is sided by a fun draft beer selection. Beyond the main dining room, you may choose from seating at the counter and bar, a high-top communal table right at the exhibition-style kitchen or outside on the sidewalk terrace.
