| Pacific Blues opens for breakfast and by noon the place jams up with a mishmash of tourists and working people from the area. It serves decent pub food and a mean chili, along with hearty, mostly meat (steak, chops, brisket, grilled sausages) and potatoes fare. Still, someone’s mom is looking out for you: there’s an emphasis on fresh veggie sides, meatless entrées like polenta with black beans, beef or vegetarian chili and build-your-own turkey burgers. Tasty clam chowder, calamari or barbecued oysters make fine starters. Pacific Blues offers an adequate wine list plus almost a dozen beers on tap, which helps fill the stools. Saturday nights bring live music to shake up sleepy Yountville, featuring local and occasionally nationally known performers. A good choice for a cold brew under a patio umbrella. |
