This Pacific Dining Car, opened in 1990, is a branch of the family-owned downtown power-dining venue that has been around since 1921, and offers the same USDA Prime beef---buttery filet mignon, nicely marbled rib-eye and a massive T-bone---with the requisite sides of baked potato and creamed corn. Crab cakes, Caesar salad, chicken and lobster round out the classic fare, presented in the quintessential steakhouse setting. Breakfast is also available all day, with staples like a blue crab Benedict, roast beef hash, and buttermilk biscuits. As at the original location, crisp white linen, thick velvet drapery and ample mahogany give this establishment the rich ambience of an old-fashioned club car, which is a refreshing change of pace from the current crop of contemporary steakhouses.
