Pho 999 Restaurant Review: If you live in the Valley, you don't necessarily have to take the drive to Orange County’s Little Saigon to find an authentic, inexpensive---and good---Vietnamese restaurant. For about $12 each, four people will be served almost enough food to feed twice that number, especially if they order the seven-course beef meal that includes beef salad and cook-your-own beef, which you wrap in paper-thin, rice-flour crêpes with lettuce, basil, mint and unripe banana shavings. Ask for help with the gargantuan menu, which lists more than 150 items. For dessert, down a durian shake or jelly with dried plums and lotus seeds. |
