Plum Tree Inn Restaurant Review: Serving Los Angeles Chinatown patrons, both in small or very large groups, Plum Tree Inn’s menu is sure to satisfy. The soup, seafood, poultry and duck, meat, mu shu, noodle, rice and vegetable meal options seem endless, with choices ranging from the Thai inspired hot and sour soup to a pepper steak and Buddah’s Feast (a mixed vegetable plate), also including favorites such as sweet and sour chicken, beef with broccoli, mu shu pork and Hawaiian fried rice. Spiciness can be adjusted and meal selections may be upgraded to the Special Package --- served in-house only --- which includes wonton or hot and sour soup, paper wrapped chicken and a spring roll. Gourmet Dinner prix-fixe selections are available for groups of two or more, as well as special (eight people or more) party menus. Plum Tree Inn suggests nineteen house specialties; try the crispy scallops in lemon sauce with vegetables or the Beijing duck, slowly roasted and served with pancakes, spring onions and hoisin sauce (requires an advance order). Lunch options are served Monday through Friday (excluding holidays) from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. and come with white rice and a soup.
