Hoping to combine nightlife and fine dining, Ra Pour serves surprisingly good globally influenced dishes and signature cocktails, in the kind of modern lounge setting you might not expect to find this far out in the ’burbs. Everybody in the house seems to start with deep-fried lobster balls on a stick, kind of a high-end version of a state fair specialty; or an arugula, date and manchego salad that reveals the chef's time with The Patina Group. The falafel, unexpected on a nightclub menu, is nicely prepared, too. Other dishes range from a take on chicken and waffles to an unusual lobster mac ‘n’ cheese combining orzo pasta with big hunks of butter-poached lobster. Good cocktails, a few interesting wines and craft beers are offered, and you can score churros with chocolate dipping sauce or sticky toffee pudding for dessert. Ra Pour is open late, so diners who have missed mealtimes can still enjoy loud music and food from the bar menu until closing.
