Facing the market of Saint-Germain-des-Prés, this bistrot enjoys an uncluttered décor, with white walls, white-clothed tables and a counter near the entrance. It belongs to the chef Alan Geaam, who also rules the Auberge Nicolas Flamel in the 3rd arrondissement. The menu at €28 offers good value for your money with dishes that come with clear flavors and the right seasonings. Check the chalkboard for hearty dailies such as haddock with potato mousseline and saffron cream, preserved beef cheek with candied carrots and zucchinis, and shortbread tart with vanilla cream and mango. Expect interesting wines by the glass like a red Mercurey 2012 La Framboisière from the Domaine Faiveley.
