Rick's Tavern Restaurant Review:
Although Santa Monica’s busy Main Street suffers from no lack of nosheries and cafés, one of the better options is Rick’s Tavern, a fine-looking alehouse that serves revisionist Americana fare in pleasant surroundings. The 1930s-era grill décor features a long bar---a nice place to enjoy one of the 50 beers, from Irish Guinness to Dutch pilsners---tiled floors and lots of dark wood. There’s also a charming outdoor patio, especially nice for lunch. What’s to eat? Generous sandwiches on French rolls, meatloaf, burgers and chile, along with waffle-cut french fries. Tip: The best nights to visit Rick’s are Tuesdays and Thursdays for burger madness, when the giant burgers and fries go for $5.99.
