Dining room at The Roof Garden, Beverly Hills, CA

The Roof Garden Restaurant Review

: A secluded spot at the top of The Peninsula Beverly Hills, The Roof Garden features a haven from bustling Beverly Hills below. Sweeping city views, a 60-foot swimming pool surrounded by heated limestone tiles and a chef's vegetable and herb garden make for a surreal setting. Guests can gather around the fire pit or at the bar to enjoy cocktails or appetizers like tuna with crisped pineapple and coquitos or lemon-braised hearts of palm salad with pancetta, cilantro and Parmesan to get things started. Executive chef David Codney with chefs Brandon Weaver and Alberto Morales offer a California-influenced menu. Main dishes range from Alaskan halibut with squid ink polenta and za'atar-spiced petite filet mignon to a tempeh quinoa burger. For lunch, winners are fish tacos and the Cobb salad. On weekend nights during the summer, The Roof Garden serves a barbecue menu with Madagascar shrimp chimichurri; Pabst Blue Ribbon beer can chicken; chipotle and coffee rubbed tri-tip with house-made oak-aged sauce; and a banana split with cinnamon ice cream, tostones and rum-raisins. To accompany your barbecue experience, don't pass up the "smoking" Kansas City Boulevardier cocktail. As it's next to the Peninsula Spa, high-end supplements and herbal boosts can be added to the fresh juice menu.
