 Saluté Wine Bar is spacious with its single-room lounge, high ceilings, low L-shaped couches and leather ottomans. The menu ranges from “snacks” like oysters on the half shell to starters such as warm octopus salad with arugula and bread to pizzas and main dishes such as a half chicken with carrots, smoked date and baharat spices. Young and talented chef Ari Taymor can also prepare a creative five-course tasting menu for $55 per person. On Sundays, brunch dishes like brown butter waffles and breakfast pizzas can be accompanied by $12 bottomless mimosas. The wine list features California wineries as well as European and South American producers, with selections including Pine Ridge Vineyards’ “Forefront” Pinot Noir and Paul Jaboulet Syrah. You’ll also find cocktails and a few beers on draft, such as the seasonal Winter Solstice from Anderson Valley Brewing Company, plus other Californian, German and Belgian options by the bottle.
