THIS RESTAURANT HAS CHANGED LOCATIONS Scarantino's Restaurant Review:
Formerly the venerable Dino’s Italian Inn (which claimed to be the oldest Italian restaurant in L.A.), this branch of Scarantino’s offers familiar, comfortable surroundings from a bygone era. (The original restaurant in Glendale is always packed with big families.) Red leatherette booths and murals of gondolas fill the room, and the marinara sauce flows freely---too freely. Pastas here drown in it, and most dishes (the menu ranges from veal Milanese to manicotti to osso buco) lack the homemade essence the place attempts to capture. Prices, however, are family-friendly, as every entrée includes both soup and salad.
