Scardino's Restaurant Review: From the outside, Scardino's looks like a modest pizzeria, but appearances are deceiving. Inside, there are red checked tablecloths, a wine wall and paintings of Italian food and wine. Chef Salvatore Costa produces some of the best pizza in the area, but he also offers pastas and risottos, plus traditional Southern Italian specialties like eggplant Parmigiana, veal piccata and shrimp Sicilian. The pork chops in lemon-herb sauce are a must. Chef Costa’s creativity often spills onto the specials menu, and dishes can sell out. But if you order in advance, expect a real feast, Southern Italian-style. |
