Scharf's Schiller Park Restaurant Restaurant Review

: Tucked away in one of Buffalo’s oldest German neighborhoods, this charming restaurant serves the Vaterland's most widely known dishes. The wienerschnitzel, sauerbraten, and rouladen rival those of any modest old-world restaurant. The lunch and dinner menus also list Limburger sandwiches, bratwurst and a wide selection of American entrées, but go in search of the classics. Frau Scharf and family do not disappoint. All entrées are served with a choice of knödl (dumpling), spätzle (thick German egg noodles) or potato, including hot potato pancakes served with applesauce and sour cream. The décor displays the expatriate's embrace of a generic version of the homeland, with Alpine landscapes and plaques with German proverbs. Dirndl-wearing servers are brisk and helpful with unfamiliar menu items. Be sure to try a Hefe Weisse or another of the specialty beers on the menu to help transport you and your taste buds thousands of miles away.

Scharfs - Disappointment

I was very disappointed with this restaurant yesterday. The only reason why I would travel through the east side of Buffalo was because I heard Scharf's had the best fish fry. That is far from the truth. Not only was the portion small, but it wasn't good. Their pork roast dinner looked like a Banquet TV dinner that also was no good. I am never going back there. I could have went anywhere , and I ruined my Friday night dinner at this place. The waitress wasn't even friendly. What a disappointment!!!
