THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Schwab's Restaurant Review:

Although the restaurant is said to be created in homage to the legendary Schwab's Pharmacy soda fountain of the 1940s, this restaurant shares little with its namesake other than its famous name. (As a matter of fact, it doesn't even share a location; the original was actually on Sunset Boulevard.) The décor is a somewhat odd combination of Buddhist sterility and hipster chic with poured concrete columns juxtaposed against soft moss green and chocolate brown padded banquettes. There is a counter, not unlike the original, except that this counter boasts beautifully upholstered chairs and mirrors a second counter in the lounge's large bar. The menu features the expected comfort dishes like mac 'n' cheese, roast turkey sandwiches and burgers with shoestring fries, but also the somewhat schizophrenic and more cosmopolitan items like tuna tartare, Caesar salad with plank-roasted salmon and shrimp dumplings. At breakfast, the chocolate brioche french toast is positively decadence on a platter.
