A blend of California modernism and Far East exoticism, this is one of the best looking Thai restaurants in L.A., with oversize glass lanterns hanging above cozy high-backed booths. Backlit murals, geometric structural wood elements and a rear lounge with a concrete bar make this a nice spot for a full meal or light snacking. Try the steamed chicken dumplings in mild green curry sauce along with a cocktail, craft beer or glass of wine from the short, mostly California list. Dishes tend to be artistically presented, from soft-shell crab with apple slaw to fried calamari with aïoli and caviar. Signature entrées include crispy salmon with mango curry sauce and short ribs in panang curry. There are plenty of noodle and vegan dishes, too, plus mango sticky rice for a sweet finish.
