Shanghai Reds Restaurant Review: This was the first restaurant built in the marina many years ago, and it's still a lively spot for watching the boats and the sunset. Enter over a trellis-covered bridge that spans the koi ponds, then into the spacious Victorian setting. We like the garden patio on warm days; the bar has a fireplace for cold nights. Nearly every table in the series of dining areas has a marina view. This, like its corporate siblings (e.g. The Reef in Long Beach, Luminarias in Monterey Park) is more about hosting banquets and offering views than gourmet cooking, so sticking to the tried-and-true works best. Start with oysters Rockefeller or share some fried rock shrimp before moving on to the signature prime rib. |
