Shanghai Reds Restaurant Review

: This was the first restaurant built in the marina many years ago, and it's still a lively spot for watching the boats and the sunset. Enter over a trellis-covered bridge that spans the koi ponds, then into the spacious Victorian setting. We like the garden patio on warm days; the bar has a fireplace for cold nights. Nearly every table in the series of dining areas has a marina view. This, like its corporate siblings (e.g. The Reef in Long Beach, Luminarias in Monterey Park) is more about hosting banquets and offering views than gourmet cooking, so sticking to the tried-and-true works best. Start with oysters Rockefeller or share some fried rock shrimp before moving on to the signature prime rib.

nice view in a sunny day
by maco on Sun Mar 22, 2009 7:07 pm
The only good thing at this restaurant is the deck, the view is beautiful, the best view of the marina. Go in a sunny day, have a drink with family and friends, BUT not food, cause it had no taste, no flavor, no smell, no nothing.
The food is nothing spectacular, it's more in the bad side.
They need a serious MAKEOVER!
The decor is as old as my gran-grand-grand parents... The desserts taste like my same grand-grand-grand mother cook them.... soooooooo old.
the pina colada it's good in a hot day as it was today!

I give 3 stars for the location and lovely view
