The Social List
Casual neighborhood tavern serving up craft beer and European-inspired fare.
The Social List Restaurant Review:
This airy corner venue on Long Beach’s Retro Row is minimalist, complete with light woods, industrial-style posters interspersed between exposed-brick columns, and a tiny bar serving up local brews and craft cocktails. The cool setting is ideal for whiling away the hours conversing and casually noshing, and the European-inspired pub grub is specifically geared toward that type of experience. Starters like patatas bravas and ham croquettes share menu space with more advanced, if unexpected, first courses such as escargots. The more casual vibe of the menu is expressed in the nice selection of satisfying burgers and handcrafted sausages, among which is pork garlic artichoke served with chimichurri mayo. Hungry hipsters may gravitate toward mains of house-cured pork belly with roasted Brussels sprouts. For dessert, the salted caramel and butterscotch pudding dubbed Liquid Gold is a must-try.
