Spot Coffee Restaurant Review: With a reasonably priced, seasonally-shifting menu, delicious potent coffee concoctions and effusive interior, Spot Coffee attracts students of all ages, neighbors and creative types. At all of its locations, patrons can choose between patio or window seats for casual voyeurism, Euro-style seating, and a parlor area with grandma's gaudy chair and lamp cast-offs. Spot has veggie and meat soup choices that, like all breads, side salads, sauces and desserts, are made completely from scratch. The ambitious sandwiches include the grilled chicken focaccia, marinated in basil pesto with tomato compote and mozzarella with pesto aïoli; and the veggie wrap, stuffed with homemade hummus, field greens and fresh vegetables wrapped in a flour tortilla. All lunches include a well-dressed mixed green salad and the menu includes a bounty of homemade desserts like Belgian chocolate mousse cake and caramel apple pie. |
