Italian staples and tapas, and an all-Italian wine list, in TriBeCa.
THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Stuzzicheria Restaurant Review:
This TriBeCa offshoot of Bar Stuzzichini brings the same Italian small-plates concept downtown. The results, though, are mixed. The large plate glass windows and rustic atmosphere create a nice venue for the food. Grilled octopus was nicely executed, as were the gooey arancini (fried rice balls). But the fried artichokes had all the flavor burned out of them and the amatriciana (with hard-to-find bucatini pasta) was surprisingly dull. Service, unfortunately, cannot come to the rescue: the slow pace sometimes means wine (from the affordable all-Italian wine list) might arrive long after the food does.
