Sweet Basil Restaurant Review: Located in a converted bungalow set high above the street and tastefully decorated with warm colors and interesting artifacts, this Thai restaurant is a few notches more elegant than the norm. The Tangerine Bar on the first floor offers a full menu as well as lively cocktails, beer and wine. The Bangkok-raised chef prepares traditional dishes along with more unconventional items. For something different, try the “O My God,” a fried tortilla roll stuffed with crab meat, basil and cream cheese, and served with a fragrant plum sauce. Spice levels are patron-controlled: mild, medium, wild or extremely wild. Snappy service rounds out an affordable dining experience. |
