Tantalum Restaurant Review: Watching kayaks and boats pass by from our wicker perches, surrounded by tropical décor, we can almost forget we're dining in the Marina Pacifica Mall. Sit at the bar for the best views of the marina, and order from a list of fresh, handcrafted cocktails. The kitchen prepares a sprawling Asian-fusion menu. Certain options are overly familiar and overpriced, but there are some winners. At dinner, start with hibachi beef satay or truffled mac ‘n’ cheese that also makes a good side dish paired with wasabi-crusted filet. Other options include ulu watu udon noodles with sweet chilies and tender cuts of filet mignon, duck two-ways and hoisin chicken. For dessert, the so-called “Brass Monkey” is a Chunky Monkey crème brûlée with caramelized bananas. The global wine list is moderately priced, but most diners seem to opt for exotic cocktails.
