Texas de Brazil Restaurant Review: The restaurants of this authentic rodizio chain combine the meat-loving menus of churrascarias (South American steakhouses) in general and a uniquely Brazilian dramatic flair. The fixed-price menu includes appealingly spongy house-baked Brazilian cheese bread, sides and sauces, plus a 50-60 item buffet bar stocked with a variety of salads, sushi, imported cheeses and much more. The main attraction, though, is the show that makes this restaurant different from other Latin American eateries specializing in meat: a non-stop parade of roaming passadores (gaucho-clad carvers) who approach your table and, from formidable-looking sword-skewers, slice all the flame-roasted meats you can imagine. Turning the traffic light card by your plate to its red side halts the offerings temporarily; turn it back to green and the parade won't stop till you drop. Cuts include many types of steak, from luxe filet mignons to more flavorful picanhas, as well as pork loin, chicken breast wrapped in bacon, lamb chops and legs, and Latin-style sausages. Desserts such as Brazilian cheesecake and Key lime pie are priced separately, as are beverages, except during Saturday and Sunday brunch when both are included in the prix-fixe. Pampering service, a thorough wine list (particularly strong in Californian, South American, Italian and Australian selections), and a sleek nightclub-like ambience add up to a dining experience as extravagant as it is entertaining.
