Trio Restaurant Restaurant Review: This Dupont Circle old-timer takes diners down a culinary memory lane, featuring some of the dishes that made our grandmothers happy back in the mid-twentieth century. Imagine roasting fresh turkeys, baking pies daily (the lemon meringue is gooey sweet), and from-scratch cooking. True, the fare isn’t cutting edge or trendy, but if you hanker for some old-fashioned grub (think corned beef and cabbage, chicken fried steak, and beef pot roast) this place is your go-to restaurant. And don’t overlook the sandwiches and burgers---we suggest the guacamole burger---and if you are an early riser, stop by for a breakfast of fried eggs, pancakes and french toast. |
