Twisted Gourmet Restaurant Review:
This casual Italian eatery is tucked into a large shopping center, and the dining room fills out an appealing contemporary space with some quirky accessories, like a piano mounted to a wall. Our main problem with Twisted Gourmet is that the menu is not twisted enough. Many dishes are surprisingly uninspired, like spaghettini with meatballs, and spaghettini with chicken in a garlic cream sauce. Likewise, sandwiches (e.g. meatball, Philly cheesesteak) are good but predictable. Pizzas are the main attraction and the most ambitious items on the menu. The “Maui Wowie” features sweet Maui onions with Gorgonzola, walnuts and blended cheese, while a steakhouse-style pizza features beef, A-1 steak sauce, Gorgonzola and fried onion straws. Chocolate sauce-drizzled macaroons or a tangy lemon cake are offered for dessert. A small wine list is available, as well as light and dark beers.
