Owner-chef Fred Eric never met a pun he didn’t like---they’re all over the menu at his high-tech beyond-hip restaurant. (Jiffy Pop is green and black mussels steamed in a jiffy pack with a Vietnamese broth and fresh basil and noodle accouterments; Rolls Royce is a spicy California roll served in a crispy won ton cone with avocado and a cucumber salad.) Despite the humor of the dishes’ names, Eric’s cooking style is no joke. You can count on gorgeous presentations and creative combinations of flavors. In what perhaps many will consider a breath of fresh air, wines are listed by adjective (ripe, intense, rich, spicy) rather than varietal or region.
