Although New Jersey natives Vito Didonato and Anthony Olivadesa prepare respectable hot Italian subs and baked ziti, it’s the pizza that has made this small storefront a favorite neighborhood hangout. Many fans claim that nothing in L.A. beats Vito’s Pizza. The pizza is ultra-thin, with a crisp underside and a good, chewy crust, and you can order by the slice. Vegetarians will appreciate the combination of fresh spinach, tomatoes and broccoli with mild ricotta cheese. We love the fresh spinach salad topped with warm sautéed onions, zucchini and goat cheese, and the wonderfully garlicky bread sticks. The music varies depending on the mood of these pizzaphiles---Rat Pack tunes, disco hits or rhythm and blues classics.
