THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Wishbone Barbeque Restaurant Review:

Buffalo’s vibrant Puerto Rican community supports a number of restaurants on the West Side, where one can hear Spanish and enjoy simple Caribbean favorites. The newest, Wishbone, features, appropriately, a large rack of roasting chickens, visible from Niagara Street. The chicken flesh could not be more delicately prepared and is seasoned with the slightest bit of spiciness. The real star of the menu is the pernil, or roast pork. Be sure not to turn down a strip of the succulent fatty skin when ordering a sandwich or dinner (available with rice and pigeon peas or french fries). Also mandatory eating are the tostones, freshly sliced, smashed, and deep-fried plantains à la Boricua. Other items like pastelillos (meat pies), stuffed potatoes, and morcilla (blood sausage) are locally made. A good place to get provisions for a picnic or a quick meal at home, Wishbone has only a few tables inside and out but is worth trying for its fresh, expertly prepared basic fare.
