10 Corso Como Restaurant Review

About the restaurant & décor: 10 Corso Como is a hybrid – it aims to be a dining, shopping and art experience all in one. As a destination, it offers up a fascinating mix of style in an area that has historically been limited in its appeal to the upscale consumer. With its Milan pedigree (the 10 Corso Como retail concept from fashion editor Carla Sozzani), the place makes no bones about its goals. Chef Jordan Frosolone (Momofuku, Sessanta) has put forth a menu of upscale dishes creating an exciting reason to visit the Seaport. The restaurant’s elegant décor is sleek and sexy, and the space is divided into circular dining rooms where conversation is possible. Art, glass, tile and metal are carefully used to chic effect. In warmer weather, choose the outdoor seating fronting the cobble-stoned streets of the historic area.

Likes: Style and menu blend beautifully, and you can shop and peruse the art gallery before.
Dislikes: The location is a bit far from the subway, although taxis are nearby.

Food & Drinks: Start your Italian evening with a plate of prosciutto di San Daniele, mozzarella di Bufala and olives that will transport you right to the Piazza Duomo di Milano. For a piatto primo, it is a tough decision between the cacio e pepe, an original preparation using bigoli, a longer and thicker spaghetti-like pasta; or the pasta alla Norma, an inside-out eggplant timballo with ricotta salata, with tomato and eggplant layers surrounding pasta on the inside. Befitting the restaurant’s riverside setting, grilled fish like branzino and swordfish are available depending on what’s freshest at the moment. Italian fans know that bistecca is always special, and 10 Corso Como understands that as well. The tagliata di manzo bone-in rib-eye comes beautifully seasoned and sliced, and with salsa verde and potatoes; it’s definitely a dish to be shared. For dessert, you might want to try something lighter such as the homemade gelati and sorbet, but we recommend that you complete your dinner with the panna cotta. The wine list takes a heavy tour through Italy but also includes French and New York varietals. In addition to the extensive selection of bottles, there are sixteen choices by the glass.
