Le Singe Vert Restaurant Review

: This friendly French restaurant in the heart of Chelsea, complete with sidewalk seating, offers a wonderful way to people-watch while savoring the bistro fare such as the classic croque monsieur, steak tartare, escargots and steak frites. A tasty alternative to typical white wine-doused mussels are the creamy moules au Ricard, a dish brimming with steamed mussels, shallots, garlic, Ricard, and, of course, cream. Perennial favorites include the roasted beet salad with string beans, Roquefort cheese, walnuts and m√Ęche or the succulent roasted duck breast over wild rice and vegetables, covered with orange sauce. An assortment of desserts and a steaming cup of rich American coffee cap the experience. It can get a bit loud and tables are cozy, but at least the service is efficient. In addition to a full bar, the wine list boasts several topnotch but moderately priced French wines that make a good pairing for the wide range of beef, fresh seafood and salads.
