Milk Bar Restaurant Review

: Christina Tosi got her start as David Chang's pastry chef at Momofuku, but this sweet shop is all her own. It's the original location of a growing Milk Bar empire, with branches throughout the U.S. and Canada. Her Compost Cookie, which combines pretzels, potato chips, coffee, oats, butterscotch and chocolate chips, deserves its fame. Popular menu staples include the Crack Pie (toasted oat crust with a gooey butter filling) and Birthday Cake (rainbow cake crumble, sprinkles and vanilla frosting). Little bites of "cake truffles" are dense and full of rich, sweet flavor. If the descriptions don't entice you, seeing these creations surely will; Tosi has a way with bright colors and fun combinations. Milk, of course, is on the menu, including “Cereal Milk” which is first steeped with corn flakes and then strained. That flavor also appears in ice cream. Or order cakes to go, for events from birthday parties to weddings.
