Mourvèdre is a red wine grape variety that is grown in many regions around the world. Mourvèdre produces tannic wines that can be high in alcohol, but the variety can be a difficult one to grow as it needs very warm weather, a low leaf-to-fruit ratio and adequate irrigation to produce strong flavored fruit that is not overly jammy.
