 Located 202 feet above Times Square, hence the name, Above offers a spot of tranquility without pretension. The décor, including high ceilings and marble, is modern and in good taste. The large windows overlook Theater Row and its neon. With a revamped menu veering toward contemporary bistro fare, Above caters to a range of diners; it’s family-friendly and also a good place for a romantic date. Salads are a perennial favorite here, as is the Kobe burger, the Maine lobster roll, the many fresh pasta dishes and the omelets at brunch. The wine list is strong on California selections and offers many half-bottles. The waitstaff is helpful and smiling. |
