THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Alma Grill Restaurant Review:
Ralph Mercado, who has helped the music careers of Tito Puente and Celia Cruz, has cannonballed into the culinary world with this contemporary eatery serving up American cuisine with Latin, Mediterranean and Asian influences. Set just off the lobby of the stylish Radisson hotel, the restaurant is only marred by the interior design, which falls flat. But this is good news, since it allows diners to focus solely on their plates. Think pan-roasted, buttery diver scallops paired with double-smoked bacon in a leek stew; subtle Moroccan-spiced rack of lamb wading in a pool of parsnip purée; whipped ricotta ravioli; and a poached lobster ceviche.
