| With an emphasis on small plates, “death by tapas” could be a reality at this stylish West Village eatery specializing in the Mediterranean. There are 46 small plate options on the menu. Standouts include the luscious, crispy Brussels sprouts served with crème fraîche, Granny Smith apples, and pistachios; wok-seared tender calamari spiced up with jalapeños and garlic chips; and surprising fried goat cheese balls with a lavender-infused honey sauce. On the more substantive side, skewers of yogurt-marinated lamb with a lacing of green leek sauce, eggplant and okra; and a squid ink paella of shellfish, chorizo and preserved lemon are balanced with a warm vegetable salad and Tunisian spice roasted beets. An extensive Mediterranean-focused wine list, a creative cocktail menu, and an even more creative dessert selection including crema Catalana, cheesecake and Earl Grey tea-infused dark chocolate truffles are also offered. |
