Ancienne Maison Gradelle Restaurant Review:

Though the restaurant was founded in 2014, it looks as if it has catered to patrons for centuries. Décor provides the illusion of an ancient dining room, with a stony floor, coffered ceiling and huge flecked mirrors. Even the menu looks old, with yellowed sheets and a granular book cover. After a stint at Guy Savoy, Jonathan Hamel is in charge of the cuisine, which focuses on rotisserie meats. Prepared with fresh, quality products and extremely well-seasoned, dishes are full of delicate flavors. The lunch menu at €26 is a sure bet, featuring daily selections like country terrine with glazed vegetables and vinegar, roasted pork cheek with purée and juniper and thyme juice, and caramelized pears with shortbread biscuit and vanilla ice cream. The wine list includes a couple dozen items and several whiskies. Nice and efficient service.
