| A visit to Greece may be unattainable, but thanks to Greek architect Yianni Skordas, we can all feel like we’ve escaped to the Ionian coast. Avra’s interior is resplendent with limestone floors, stonewashed walls, and French doors framing an outdoor terrace. A menu featuring Greek favorites and coastal specialties complements the relaxing décor. Start with the choice of three spreads (tzatziki, tarama, melitzanosalata, skordalia, fava, htipiti) to nosh on with pita and continue on to the flaky spanakopita. A raw bar and salads are also options before delving into entrées such as plaki (Chilean sea bass with Vidalia onions, tomato and herbs) or paidakia (lamb loin chops, potatoes and asparagus). |
