A pristine dining room and subtle, seamless service define this elegant New American restaurant overlooking Carnegie Hall.
THIS RESTAURANT HAS CHANGED NAMES The Back Room at One57 Restaurant Review:
Situated on the third floor of Park Hyatt New York, this upscale New American restaurant offers a dramatic interior marked by gleaming whites, floor-to-ceiling windows, cool greys, soothing blues, leather seating and a pastry chef's station in full view. Aim for the seafood on the predominantly traditional menu. Starters like the lobster salad are on the small side but artfully arranged with sections of lobster topping a bed of diced peppers. Mains include a lobster potpie with chunks of the fresh crustacean cooked in a concentrated cream-based sauce, and a moist grilled salmon with a crispy skin. Otherwise, opt for the tender grilled chicken breast on a bed of risotto. A wine list featuring old-world choices (Sancerre from the Loire Valley) as well as new-world selections (Pinot Noir from Oregon) rounds out the experience. Service is refined.
