Bea Restaurant Review:

Bea’s atmosphere, complete with classic movies silently screened on the various exposed brick walls, and its friendly service are highlights. The menu is made up mostly of small plates and pizzas. Not everything works, but if you know what to order you can walk out of the place feeling very satisfied. Start with the unctuous chicken liver terrine that’s spread on a handful of toasted baguette slices. Sliders topped with caramelized onions and a subtly sweet tomato jam, as well as the tender lamb meatballs are worth a try. Don’t skip the cocktails, which are treated with reverence. Anything made with rye is a good bet. The Granny’s Nightcap --- rye, sweet vermouth, Fernet-Branca, Drambuie --- is like a Manhattan with a couple twists. And, Granny or not, it really does make for the perfect nightcap.
