Dining room at Beacon Restaurant, New York, NYWaldy Malouf, who put his flavorful stamp on The Rainbow Room, Hudson River Club and La Crémaillère in the suburbs, has turned his culinary imagination to open-fire cooking at this high, wide and handsome three-level restaurant, bar and grill. You can sit and watch cooks rotisserie-roasting ten-herb chicken and suckling pig and grilling herb-crusted chicken, venison chops and a rainbow of sausages. Try the Beacon grilled shrimp cocktail. Malouf and his partner, David Emil, call this their tavern for the twenty-first century.
