THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Bette Restaurant Review:

In a town noted for fickleness when it comes to hot spots, Amy Sacco has already beaten the odds by continuing to maintain the heat of her celebrity magnet lounges, Lot 61 and Bungalow 8. The nightlife entrepreneur expanded her empire with Bette (rhymes with jetty, a tribute to her mom). This swank boîte induces a sense of pleasant disorientation with retro cocktails like the Pink Lady, Grasshopper and Ladies' Sidecar; a room-dominating piece of fashion-illustration carpet art by Richard Phillips; roses and peonies on the tables; and a carved-carpet ceiling. It's all very swank and sophisticated, like a slice of dislocated late-1960s Upper East Side. The menu is described as European grill. That translates here to dishes such as the yellowtail ceviche with avocado, grapefruit and fennel pollen; sheep’s ricotta ravioli with tomato concassé, sautéed spinach and pesto broth; or grilled Scottish salmon with wilted baby spinach and tomato citronette. Wistful time-travelers can further the illusion by ordering baked Alaska or Gala apple crisp for dessert.
