Bistro Ten 18 Restaurant Review: Clean, sophisticated lines create a sense of space in the small dining room and corner windows make it feel as large as the Cathedral across the street. Dark-stained, wooden tables evoke a monastic setting but the bar and the imaginative menu are pure Manhattan. Co-owner Craig Skiptunis labors alongside his staff to fulfill the wishes of his guests, offering some bistro favorites such as steak frites with a choice of New York strip or marinated skirt steak, stuffed pork chops, and rack of lamb. However, the American dishes add the eclectic flavors that distinguish this bistro from its continental cousins. Light and crispy lump crab cakes represent a signature dish, served with rémoulade and pineapple salsa. The changing menu may also feature maple-mustard glazed sea scallops, shrimp in a Maytag blue cheese-brandy sauce, or a half-chicken with Parmesan whipped potatoes. Sidewalk seating and Poached Eggs Ten 18 make weekend brunch an inspired experience.
