Bocca di Bacco Restaurant Review:
If you can endure the crowds and the wait, and sometimes the less-than-pleasant hostess, you'll be pleased with what arrives on the table at this Ninth Avenue restaurant. The wine list is longer than it needs to be with some room for improvement, but there are good Italian wines, especially reds, at a reasonable price point to complement your meal. Moist quail arrives atop creamy polenta, a perfect antidote to the cool, crispy crostini, which change by the day. Hand-made garganelli with an osso buco ragù would impress even your Italian grandmother. Fish entrées are also a good bet, with a grilled branzino or pan-seared monkfish. Skip dessert in favor of a cheese plate served with honey and fig jam.
