Set in the old Bagatelle space in the Meatpacking District, this casual and often scene-y French restaurant serves up Gallic-style comfort fare. Foie gras-filled beef ravioli and homemade black truffle gnocchi are both hearty and well executed, if filling, starters. Keeping with the theme, move on to the ultra-tender pan-seared lamb loin served with a crispy chickpea panisse, or the juicy filet mignon topped with béarnaise sauce and accompanied by a gooey Gruyère-spiked twice-baked potato. But be sure to save room for the sweets, especially if the pistachio and bittersweet molten chocolate cake is on the menu. The wine list, with mostly French selections, offers a handful of nice, affordable options by the glass.
