| It’s no pain, no gain at this fiery Anglo-Indian restaurant (London’s Brick Lane neighborhood is known for eateries featuring fare from the subcontinent). Among the seven types of curry on the menu is phaal, known for its tongue-paralyzing properties. Timid (or sane, depending on your perspective) diners will be able to find more familiar types of curry here, too. Vindaloo, the more widely available king of the spicy curry mountain, seems reasonable in this context, as do the rest of the dishes which are lighter than what you generally find up and down Sixth Street. The interior, which skips the chili pepper Christmas lights, contributes to the classier, if slightly pricier, experience. |
