Just blocks from the United Nations, C Restaurant dishes up consistently savory seafood dishes (get it? C Restaurant) with an international twist. The menu, which nods to south-of-the-border seasonings such as merluza and scallop ceviche, smoked salmon nachos and seafood paella, as well as some less-traveled items, like pan-seared sea scallops and sautéed Atlantic salmon, has enough tempting dishes that you may want to order more than one. But be sure to save room for the homemade ice cream, a selection of six different flavors, including memorable graham cracker. The ambience of the 140-seat, bi-level room is casual and (surprise, surprise) aquatic themed, with terra cotta tile floors and cherry wood tables. The Cocktail list mostly revolves around fruit-infused martinis and mojitos, which are sure to put a smile on even the most hardened UN diplomat.
