With just nine seats and a spare but chic quasi-industrial look to the place, this Flatiron District taqueria is a good, safe spot to sample better-than-average Mexican street fare. There are four options for tacos, which come in portions of three, and brick-size burritos: vegetarian, chicken, carne asada and carnitas; of the four, the latter two, the pork and steak, are the standouts. The meat is soft and tangy, made ultra tender by an overnight citrus marinade. Elote, corn on the cob, encrusted with queso fresco and accompanied by a sweet red salsa, is a great side. Frequent specials include tamales and tacos made with seasonal ingredients. In the warm-weather months, take your food out to leafy Madison Square Park, just a block away.
