At this Midtown restaurant, owner and chef Christer Larsson serves up Scandinavian cuisine, particularly salmon, in an eclectic lodge setting. Appetizers include fried calamari, house-smoked arctic char, gravlax and herring. The signature salmon baked on an oak board and topped with bacon, the roasted monkfish in tarragon sauce and, when in season, the venison are appealing entrées. The fallen chocolate soufflé and homemade sorbets are big dessert favorites. In addition to an acceptable wine list, Christer’s has impressive beer and aquavit selections.
