THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Dolce Vita Restaurant Review:

Set a half block from the tourist miasma of Mulberry Street, Dolce Vita seeks to please all people, including (and especially) locals. There are no fake-Italian-accented barkers outside trying to pull people in and no “That’s Amore” playing endlessly on the hi-fi. Despite the clichéd name, Dolce Vita serves up above-average Italian fare in an understated exposed-brick room. The polenta fries might be a slight misnomer (they’re really three large blocks of fried polenta), but they’re nicely crisp on the outside and moist on the inside (and accompanied by a rich Gorgonzola dipping sauce). The green apple risotto marries tart Granny Smith apples with shrimp and Parmigiano while the simple angel hair pasta goes tangy with its tomato and basil sauce. More substantial fare includes grilled lamb chops and a hefty rib-eye.
